Refrigerant Gas Leak Detection - Single Zone
The Honeywell Refrigerant Gas Detection Sensor, Aura, is used to detect the leakage of refrigerant gas and notify a monitoring system or provide a local indication (i.e. audible or visual signal). Remedial action can then be taken to rectify the leak and replace the lost gas.

The units consist of an enclosure incorporating a sensor and monitor to detect gas leaks in an area, room, zone, airspace or airflow. The Aura series has two available models, SN0500 and SN0501, and can interface with Honeywell’s Excel-Pack range of controllers.

The sensors allow for full compliance with EC2037/2000 and standard EN378 (Europe) and ASHRAE 15-1994(USA)

Most refrigeration systems are prone to developing leaks.  More than often leaks start small, developing gradually over a period of time.  Leaks cost money, both in terms of the need to replace expensive refrigerant gas and the loss of system performance. The issue of the environment damage leaks cause is also a concern.
